At the wbk, the award-winning and committed industrial engineer heads the Production Systems Division, which focuses on global production strategies, production system planning and quality assurance in research and practice. Besides Professor Ellen Ivers-Tiffée (Institute for Applied Materials), Gisela Lanza is now the second KIT scientist who is a member of the current DFG Senate.

The German Research Foundation (DFG) is the largest research funding organization and central self-governing body of science in Germany. Its Senate is the central scientific body in which all matters of essential importance to the DFG are discussed and decided.
