Gisela Lanza elected to DFG Senate

The General Assembly of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) has elected nine researchers to the DFG Senate – including Professor Gisela Lanza, head of the wbk Institute of Production Science.

At the wbk, the award-winning and committed industrial engineer heads the Production Systems Division, which focuses on global production strategies, production system planning and quality assurance in research and practice. Besides Professor Ellen Ivers-Tiffée (Institute for Applied Materials), Gisela Lanza is now the second KIT scientist who is a member of the current DFG Senate.

The German Research Foundation (DFG) is the largest research funding organization and central self-governing body of science in Germany. Its Senate is the central scientific body in which all matters of essential importance to the DFG are discussed and decided. The DFG Senate has a total of 39 members, 36 of whom are elected by the General Assembly.
