Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center (AMTC)

Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center (AMTC) is located at Jiading Campus of Tongji University Shanghai. At AMTC three institutions cooperate in the field of production science:

  • Chinesisch-Deutsches Hochschulkolleg (CDHK)
  • wbk Institute of Production Science (KIT)
  • College of Mechanical Engineering (Tongji University)

AMTC operates in the field of production science and has three main focuses:

  • Research
  • Teaching
  • Industry Projects

AMTC offers:

  • Practical training and education for engineers operating in China in the field of production technology
  • Research  and Development (R&D) for manufacturing companies in China
  • Basic Research on
    • Automated production and machines
    • Cutting technologies
    • Assembly processes

Due to the leading role of Germany in automotive technology and the fact that China is the largest automotive-producing nation in the world, AMTCs partners consist to a great extend of automotive OEMs and their suppliers in China. Especially the machining processes and their automated production lines for cylinder-head,-block , crankshaft and camshaft are object of AMTC´s work. Regarding assembly processes the focus is on robotic applications in the body shop and the interior design of the vehicle. The machinery of AMTC is always up-to-date. Therefore, the machinery and equipment will not be purchased, but provided by industrial companies for the duration of the research work.
Current machinery and equipment:

  • Machining center by MAG IAS
  • Turning center by MAG IAS
  • Coordinate measuring system by Zeiss
  • Industrial robots by ABB
